I'm having trouble uploading my images...can you help?
If you run into a problem uploading your image(s) please continue and complete the order and then email us your images. You can always call us toll free at 800-204-5478 with questions or email us anytime with your upload or image question.
When will I receive my order?
For the majority of products it normally takes 2-3 business days from the day we receive the photo to the day it is shipped. (extra time required during the holiday season and for collages). Please make sure your email account is accepting mail from "firstname.lastname@example.org." Many times we try to correspond with a customer and our email gets lost in a spam filter. If that happens it can possibly delay your order.
What about shipping?
Shipping Cost: We offer FREE shipping to the Continental USA on orders over $65.00 USD.
Yes, we do ship to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico as well as APO and FPO but there is a charge for shipping.
Shipping Time: Normal shipping times are listed on each product.
We cannot guarantee when an order will arrive. Consider any shipping or transit time offered to you by The Memories Place only as an estimate. We encourage you to order in a timely fashion to avoid delays caused by shipping or product availability.
Do you ship Internationally?
We do ship internationally to many countries. Please contact us for costs and we will invoice you through PayPal if you would like the order to be processed.
Do you offer EXPRESS Shipping on photo blankets?
Unfortunately we no longer have the option of express or overnight shipping.
Do you ship to APO/FPO?
Yes. We support our troops and gladly ship to APO/FPO. Please understand that our shipping times may be a bit different than normal since we have no control after the package goes overseas. Shipping costs are shown at checkout.
We will not guarantee nor refund any products going out of the country if they are not received since we have no control over the shipping.
Where are your products made?
We are in South Carolina and all of our photo blanket products are made in the USA. Every dollar spent on our website stays in the USA and supports our jobs and our economy.
What is the difference between knitted, woven, and fleece photo blankets?
A knitted throw is knitted from yarn while the woven ones are woven with thread. The knitted throws do not have a fringe, the woven ones have fringe on all four sides. In both cases the image is woven or knitted to become part of the textile. In the case of fleece the image is printed on the fabric.
Will the picture fade with washing on a woven or knitted photo blanket?
The image will not fade or wash off any product since the image is not printed. It is true knitted or woven fabric.
I've done my own collage....will it work?
Please don't attempt to do it without contacting us first. There are specific sizes that must be adhered to when these throws are produced. Call or email us first before ordering anything you have put together. We are always available to help. You can also check our blog for info about sizes.
What are the care instructions for the photo blankets?
Machine wash in cold water. Air dry, gentle cycle. And of course, you should never use bleach when washing this product.
What types of payment do you accept?
We gladly accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. We also accept PayPal, personal checks, and money orders.
How do I choose the best photo?
Almost any photo or flat artwork with good resolution can be made into a photo throw, photo blanket, or photo throw pillow or tote. The best results will come from a photo that is clear and has good contrast.
- Image may be color or black-and-white.
- We will convert it to gray-scale if it is going on a b/w throw.
- Photos where part of the subject is in dark shadow normally do not work.
- Photos that have good contrast and the subject is close up work best.
- You can't increase resolution if it was not there in the original scan.
- What appears great on a digital monitor might not translate well to a textile.
What "dpi" settings should I use?
Photos should be scanned at 300dpi if possible. While 72dpi is great for the web or email, there is not enough resolution for a quality photo blanket. We will contact you if the resolution is a problem. You can always email us the photo before ordering and we will gladly let you know if it will produce the desired outcome.
How about pictures made with my camera phone?
It really depends on the quality of the image. Up till last year I would have said not to use them but with the advent of some of the newest phones the pictures are getting so much better. If you have a question, please contact us and we will let you know if it works.
How many images are recommended on a throw?
There is no hard and fast rule and it really depends upon the composition of each photo. For example: 12 images with one person in them may work well on a collage but 2 images of a 40 member team will not.
Can my photo be cropped?
We will crop your photograph when required or requested. We will crop your photo to focus on the main subject and leave out less important areas. By doing so, you receive a better product. Please do not try to crop your photos, many times we need some headroom or sideroom on the product. We are happy to handle the cropping for you. We will also take care of such things as date stamp and red eye removal and of course there is no charge for that.
Will my photo be used in a landscape or portrait orientation?
We will keep your photo blanket with the same orientation as the image where possible.
Can I get a proof of the product?
Proofs will be provided after the order is placed if you so request. Please understand that the proof is only an approximation of the LAYOUT of the final product. It is impossible to show the exact final picture as the knitting or weaving process and the software needed to produce the throw WILL alter the finished product from the proof. Please check your email for the proof and also check to make sure your email client is not blocking or catching our address in a spam filter. You will get the proof from us normally within 24 hours of requesting it.
Can I print the picture on an inkjet and then mail or scan it to you?
Pictures produced on inkjet printers will not work for a throw.
Is the site secure?
We are a secure site and use either Clearant or PayPal for credit card processing. We are PCI Compliant and your information is always sent securely and encrypted.
My order was voided but I see a charge on my statement...
Actually, this scenario is quite common. When a card is authorized, the card issuing bank will see it and display it as such online. When a customer sees that, they often mistake it for an actual charge. If the transaction was voided it won't actually appear on their statement at month end but does appear as an authorization for a few days until it drops off. There is a difference between an authorization and a settled transaction and it won't appear as an actual charge on your monthly statement.
